The library building remains closed, but we will welcome donations on a limited basis after Labor Day.
During the COVID closure, donations are accepted anytime during Drive-Thru hours:
If you have a significant amount of donations (more than 3 boxes), please email longviewlibrary@mylongview.com to set up an appointment.
Books (as well as newspapers and magazines) that need to be recycled can be deposited in the blue Lions Club paper collection box near the Library's outside bookdrop and Drive-Thru service area.
Please do not place donations in the bookdrop or leave them unattended outside of Drive-Thru hours.
At your request, Library staff will provide you with a receipt that you may fill out for tax purposes. The Library staff is not qualified to determine the value of your donation. It will be up to you to assign a value for tax purposes.
The Friends of the Longview Public Library also financial contributions through GiveButter.
All donations are greatly appreciated. Some donated materials are added to the Library's collections. Anything that cannot be added to the collection is sold at the Friends of the Library book sales or on the Internet. The money raised by sales goes to fund programming and to purchase other library materials.
